The year of 2010 so far...
Well it's again been a while since the last blog post - with twitter, facebook, Myspace, newsletters it is hard to keep up with this communication stuff! And it is a good sign when you don't have time to do them because your sooo busy! Anyways that is the excuses out of the way.

Here at Bandtag we have been busy talking to artists, labels and stakeholders, we have also tagged some really cool artists and festivals lately!

Late last year Dew Process along with Jmag and Converse had a promotion on the cover of the December Jmag issue! With great results, we also asked the readers how they liked to consume music digital/physical etc and the results were surprising - there was a fairly even split between dig download and physical purchase and many did both depending on the artist!! It was great info for Dew Process to receive!

We also just recently tagged 13 artists from Shock Records which they distributed at all Soundwave festivals! Some killer stuff on there!

Along with Urthboy, Horrorshow, Brisbane Sounds 2010 compilation. Blair from Bris Sounds is actually using the card as a Business card aswell - with all his contact details - and he will be distribution the cards at SXSW Music conference in Austin Texas towards the end of March! Which is also brilliant as they fit snug in a suitcase and at the same time he is promoting 15 killer Brisbane artists to the US industry stakeholders - as the cards can be redeemed from Anywhere in the world!!

Another cool idea was from Popfrenzy Records where they partnered with INCU Retail Fashion Label - where the had an in-store Bandtag promotion giving customers some free killer tracks from the Popfrenzy roster. That is the beauty of this product - it can be used in so many ways, in so many different distribution points! There was some great redeems from this promotion so now Popfrenzy can connect with a new market (people who love fashion and music)!

We have also been working on the new MyBrandtag (sister) company to Bandtag - linking Bands with Brands... will be launching the new site end of March.....very exciting - where Brands can connect/engage with their consumers via music, and artists still get paid for their use of their tracks, its a win/win for everyone!! Can check us out on twitter: Bandtag, MyBrandtag

Till next time....
